Our site/publication is called Industrie and we spelled it with an “ie” on purpose – it’s the French way of spelling Industry and was once defined to us as an artisan who works with their hands to create things of beauty and substance. So tell us, how do you define beauty and substance?
Beauty is a variable that we can, and should, define for ourselves. Every woman is beautiful in her own unique way, and I think that being confident and letting your individual personality shine is often most beautiful.
What other creative outlets besides hairstyling do you explore/practice?
I love art, books and films and I travel regularly, which is always inspiring.
What’s your personal motto/favorite quote?
When have you felt the most vulnerable in your career?
It took a while for me to build my career. I was enrolled in the Vidal Sassoon Hair Academy for 18 months, and it wasn’t until I had my big breakthrough working with David Sims that I really started to develop my own style.
If you’re having a bad day, what’s the one thing that will always cheer you up?
Meditating always helps to clear my mind – I do it both in the morning and the evening.
